GO to Interior Lamps System Check

Inspect for the following related BCM data parameters.

Refer to BCM for typical values and definitions.

Was a problem found and corrected?

GO to Interior Lamps System Check

Go to Step 3

Disconnect the courtesy lamp relay from the body relay block.

Did the courtesy/dome lamps turn OFF?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 9

1. Connect a DMM between the courtesy lamp relay cavities 1 and 2 in the body relay block.
2. Depress the dome override switch in order to override the interior lighting.
3. Verify the scan parameter value is ON.

Does the DMM display the specified value?

Less than 1 volt

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the courtesy lamp relay.

Is the repair complete?

GO to Interior Lamps System Check

--

1. Leave the DMM connected.
2. Disconnect the BCM connector C1 and C2.

Does the DMM display the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Replace the BCM. Refer to BCM.

Is the repair complete?

--

GO to Interior Lamps System Check

--

Repair the short to ground in CKT 690 (GRY/BLK) between the body relay block and the BCM.

Is the repair complete?

--

GO to Interior Lamps System Check

--

Disconnect the body relay block.

Do all of the lamps go out?

--

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

Repair the short to ground in CKT 156 (WHT) between the body relay block and the courtesy lamps.

Is the repair complete?

--

GO to Interior Lamps System Check

--

With the body relay block disconnected, connect the DMM between the harness connector terminal E4 (WHT) and ground.

Does the meter display the specified value?

Less than 2 ohms

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 13

Repair the short to ground in CKT 156 (WHT) to the dome lamp.

Is the repair complete?

GO to Interior Lamps System Check

Repair the short to ground in CKT 156 (WHT) to the rear dome lamp.

Is the repair complete?

--
