1. Confirm that the flash to pass system operates
2. Does the flash to pass system operate?

Go to Step 3

Go to Headlamps Flash to Pass Inoperative

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Connect a scan tool.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
4. Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs ?

Connect a test lamp from CKT 198 (DK BLU) connector C211 terminal E13 at the multifunction switch to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to step 6

Go to step 5

Locate and repair the open in CKT 198 (DK BLU) between the multifunction switch connector C211 terminal E13 and the underhood fuse block connector C4 terminal B2.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Headlight System Check

--

1. Move the headlamp switch to the ON (HEAD) position.
2. Place the headlamp dimmer switch in the HIGH BEAM position.
3. Connect a test lamp from CKT 1356 (BRN), connector C211 terminal E11 at the multifunction switch to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the multifunction switch.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Headlight System Check

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1356 (BRN) between the multifunction switch connector C211 terminal E11 and the flash to pass relay terminal 86.
