Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

Did you perform the power door locks system check?

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

Open the right front door while observing the interior lamps.

Do the interior lamps turn on when you open the door?

Go to Step  3

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative with Doors Open

1. Use a fused jumper in order to backprobe the remote control door lock receiver connector terminal S.
2. Close all of the doors.
3. Once the interior lamps have turned off, ground the fused jumper.

Do the interior lamps light?

Go to Step  4

Go to Step  5

Replace the remote control door lock receiver. Refer to Receiver Replacement .

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

Repair an open in CKT 395 between the remote control door lock receiver terminal S and S305. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
