Were you sent here from the IPC System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Move the head-up display dimmer switch to the full bright position.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Do all segments of the head-up display illuminate for 3.5 seconds?

Go to Head Up Display (HUD) Inoperative

Does the head-up display speedometer information as "-- --" for over 3.5 seconds?

Go to Step 5

Does the head-up display match the instrument cluster display?

--

System OK

Go to Step 7

Check instrument cluster operation. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster .

Does the instrument cluster function properly?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Reconnect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Move the head-up display dimmer switch to the full bright position

Does the head-up display match the instrument cluster display?

Go to Step 9

Test the head up display circuit for a short to ground, short to voltage, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs

Replace the head-up display . Refer to Instrument Cluster Head Up Display Replacement .

Replace the IPC assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
