Tools Required
Removal Procedure
- Remove the wiper motor
fuse. The wiper motor fuse is located in the instrument panel electrical center.
- Remove the wiper arm assemblies. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Remove the air inlet screen. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Remove the wiper motor module. Refer to
Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement
.
- Disconnect the wiper transmission linkage from the crank arm using J 39232
.
- Remove the 3 TORX® head screws retraining the wiper motor
to the wiper motor module.
- Remove the wiper motor from the wiper motor module.
Installation Procedure
- Install the wiper motor
into the wiper motor module.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the 3 wiper
motor mounting TORX® head screws.
Tighten
Tighten the wiper motor screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the wiper transmission linkage to the crank arm using
tool J 39529
.
- Install the wiper motor module into the vehicle. Refer to
Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement
.
- Install the air inlet screen. Refer to
Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the wiper arm assemblies. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement
.
- Install the wiper motor fuse.
