Visually inspect the 25 Amp PWR WNDWS fuse for an open.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 2

  1. Disconnect the drivers door power window switch.
  2. Turn ignition ON.
  3. Test the fuse output-ignition 3 circuit at the power window switch for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the drivers door power window switch.
  2. Turn ignition ON.
  3. Test the fuse output-ignition 3 circuit at the power window switch for high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 5

  1. Reconnect the power window switch.
  2. Install a (J39200) Digital Multimeter in the back side of the power window switch in the fuse output-ignition 3 circuit between the power window switch and ground.
  3. Set the DMM on the continuity selection.
  4. Individually push each window switch on the drivers door up and down until a short to ground is present.
  5. Find and repair the open in appropriate circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ground circuit of the power window switch for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in wiring systems.

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the power window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in wiring systems.

Replace the power window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .
