Power Seat Switch Replacement VIN Plant Code 6

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 280436  Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat back recliner handle from the front seat back hinge/ recliner mechanism.
  2. Remove the front seat cushion outer trim panel (5) from the front seat cushion frame.
  3. Disconnect the front seat power switch electrical connector.
  4. Remove the front seat power switch bolts.
  5. Remove the front seat power switch (9) from the front seat outer cushion finish trim panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front seat power switch to the front seat cushion outer finish trim panel.

  2. Object Number: 280436  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front power seat switch bolts (8).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  5. Connect the front seat power switch electrical connector.
  6. Install the front seat cushion outer trim panel (5) to the front seat cushion frame.
  7. Install the front seat cushion outer trim panel (5) screws.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  9. Install the front seat back recliner handle.
  10. Install the front seat back recliner handle screw.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 740566  Size: SH
  1. Adjust the front bucket seat to the full up position in order to gain access to the power seat switch (3).
  2. Pull the bezel (1) from the power seat switch (3).

  3. Object Number: 740550  Size: SH
  4. Adjust the front seat cushion cover (1) in order to gain access to the power seat switch. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
  5. Remove the power seat switch screw (4).
  6. Remove the power seat switch (3) from the cushion frame (2).
  7. Disconnect the wire harness electrical connector (5).

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the wire harness electrical connector (5).
  2. Position the power seat switch (3) to the seat cushion frame (2).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the power seat switch screw (4).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  6. Adjust the front seat cushion cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 740566  Size: SH
  8. Align the bezel (1) to the power seat switch (3) and press into place until fully seated.
  9. Adjust the front bucket seat to the original position.
