Was the wiper/washer system check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Move the front wiper/washer switch lever to the HI position.
  3. Backprobe the front wiper motor connector using J 39200 from cavity 2 to ground.
  4. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage greater than the specified value?

10V

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Backprobe the front wiper motor connector using J 35616-200 from cavity 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Replace the front wiper motor. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the lock position.
  2. Disconnect the front wiper/washer switch connector (switch still in Hi position).
  3. Disconnect the junction block connector C3.
  4. Connect J 39200 from junction block connector C3 cavity 7 to the front wiper/washer switch connector terminal 1 (switch side).
  5. Measure the resistance.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

5ohms

Go to Step 6

Replace the combination switch. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement in Restraints.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

Test for an open or high resistance (more than 5.0 ohms) in the BLU/RED wire (including connectors) between the front wiper motor and the combination switch.

Was high resistance found?

--

Go to Step 8

Repair the open/high resistance. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
