Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 352189  Size: MH
  5. Remove the 2 screws that secure the rear guide channel.
  6. Remove the rear guide channel from the vehicle.
  7. Disconnect the power door lock electrical connector.

  8. Object Number: 352151  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the joint (1). Remove the outside handle rod (2).

  10. Object Number: 352194  Size: SH
  11. Remove the following components from the door lock assembly:
  12. • The inside handle rod
    • The lock rod
  13. Remove the door lock assembly (2) from the door by removing the 4 screws.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 352194  Size: SH
  1. Install the door lock assembly (2) to the door. Secure the lock assembly with the 4 screws.
  2. Install the following components to the door lock assembly:
  3. • The inside handle rod
    • The lock rod

    Object Number: 352151  Size: SH
  4. Install the outside handle rod (2) to the joint (1) of the outside handle.

  5. Object Number: 352199  Size: MH
  6. Check the play of the push rod (2) by operating the outside door handle. If the push rod play is not within specification, repair or replace the defective part.
  7. Adjust
    Adjust the push rod play to a range of 0.1-1.5 mm (0.004-0.06 in).

  8. Confirm the following actions:
  9. • The door does not open when the door is locked
    • The door opens when the door is unlocked
  10. Install the rear guide channel. Secure the channel with the 2 screws.
  11. Install the rear window. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Replacement .
  12. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
