The left rear solenoid valve is part of Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV). The BPMV turns ON and OFF the left rear solenoid valve as deemed necessary to modulate brake hydraulic pressure to the left rear wheel brake during an ABS stop.
• | The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects an open, a short to voltage, or a short to ground in the left rear solenoid circuitry. |
• | DTC 0080 can be set anytime |
• | A malfunction DTC stores |
• | The ABS disables |
• | The ABS warning indicator turns ON |
The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists and the Scan Tool Clear DTCs function is used.
If DTC C0125 (Value Relay Circuit Open) is set (current or history) go to the DTC C0125 table first.
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
If a valve relay circuit malfunction exists this DTC may set. Therefore the DTC C0125 must be diagnosed first.
If the condition for the malfunction is currently present the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) is malfunctioning.
Test the left rear solenoid by turning the solenoid on and off through a scan tool. The scan tool will display if the EBCM commands the left rear solenoid ON and feedback status.
