Brake Pipe Replacement Front Without ABS

Removal Procedure

  1. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.

  2. Object Number: 213524  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the pipe(s) (1) to be replaced at each fitting.
  4. Remove the pipe(s) (1) from the guide brackets (3).
  5. Remove the pipe(s) (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 213524  Size: SH
  1. Install the brake pipe(s) (1) to each fitting.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure the pipes with guide brackets (3) and pipe fitting nuts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fitting nuts (2) to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  5. Flush the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Flushing in this section.

Brake Pipe Replacement Rear Without ABS

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Clean any dirt and foreign materials from the pipes and fittings.

  3. Object Number: 172105  Size: MH
  4. Remove the pipe guide clamps (2).
  5. Disconnect the pipe(s) (1) to be replaced at each fitting.
  6. Remove the pipe(s) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 172105  Size: MH
  1. Install the brake pipe(s) (1) to the vehicle. Secure the pipe(s) at the respective guide clamps (2) and pipe fitting nuts.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
