Rear Seat Latch Replacement 2 Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion trim cover. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Trim Cover Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 351547  Size: LH
  3. Remove the following components from the rear seat:
  4. • 1 bolt from each rear seat belt buckle
    • The rear seat belt buckles
    • 2 rear seat latch mounting nuts on the bottom of the rear seat cushion (13)
    • The rear seat latch (9)

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 351547  Size: LH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the rear seat latch (9) to the bottom of the rear seat cushion (13). Secure the rear seat latch (9) with the 2 mounting bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat latch mounting bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear seat belt buckles to the rear seat. Secure the seat belt buckles with 1 mounting belt each.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat belt buckle mounting bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear seat cushion trim cover. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Trim Cover Replacement .

Rear Seat Latch Replacement 50/50 Split

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 521260  Size: MH
  1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to Rear 50-50 Split Seat Replacement .
  2. Gently pry the rear seat recliner mechanism lower trim cover (14) loose.
  3. Remove the seat.
  4. Remove the screw and rear seat outboard rail trim cover from the seat.

  5. Object Number: 521234  Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear bolt from the recliner mechanism (1).
  7. Disconnect the rear seat latch cable (2) from the outboard rail.

  8. Object Number: 521260  Size: MH
  9. Remove the screw from each cushion bumper. Remove the 2 cushion bumpers from the seat.
  10. Remove the support rods (3) from the rear seat by removing the following fasteners:
  11. • 1 clip
    • 1 pin
  12. Remove the 6 screws from the rear seat cushion trim cover.
  13. Feed the rear seat latch cable out of the rear seat cushion trim cover. Remove the cover from the seat.

  15. Remove the forward bolt securing the recliner mechanism (1) to the seat cushion.

  16. Object Number: 521260  Size: MH
  17. Remove the E-ring (18) to rear seat inboard hinge pin.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 521260  Size: MH
  1. Install the rear seatback to the rear seat (16) cushion (12).
  2. Install the E-ring to the rear seat inboard hinge pin.

  3. Object Number: 521246  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   4. Install the forward bolt securing the recliner mechanism (1) to the seat cushion.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat recliner mechanism forward bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  6. Feed the rear seat latch cable through the rear seat cushion trim cover. Secure the cover to the seat with 6 screws.
  7. Install the rear seat support rod (3) to the seat. Secure with the pin and clip.
  8. Install the 2 cushion bumpers to the seat. Secure each with 1 screw.

  9. Object Number: 521234  Size: SH
  10. Install the rear seat latch cable to the outboard rail.
  11. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   12. Install the rear bolt to the recliner mechanism (1).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat recliner mechanism rear bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  14. Install the rear seat outboard latch cover to the seat. Secure with the screw.
  15. Press the recliner mechanism lower trim cover (14) onto the recliner mechanism.
  16. Install the rear seat to the vehicle. Refer to Rear 50-50 Split Seat Replacement .
