Generator Brace Bracket Replacement Front Generator Brace

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 162669  Size: SH
  1. Remove the generator front brace nut and bolt.
  2. Remove the generator front brace from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 162669  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator front brace to the engine.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the generator front brace nut and bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the generator front brace nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Tighten the generator front brace bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb  ft).

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator from the engine. Refer to Generator Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 162173  Size: SH
  3. Remove the generator mounting bracket bolts.
  4. Remove the generator mounting bracket from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 162173  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator mounting bracket to the engine.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the generator mounting bracket bolts in sequence of figure.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten generator mounting bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the generator from the engine. Refer to Generator Replacement .
