Radio Antenna Replacement Fixed Antenna U66

Removal Procedure

Tool Required
J 38536-A Antenna Bezel Nut Socket


    Object Number: 182427  Size: SH
  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the right side rear compartment trim to gain access. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
  3. Disconnect the antenna extension cable from the antenna.

  4. Object Number: 361441  Size: SH
  5. Remove the antenna mast. Refer to Fixed Antenna Mast Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 361436  Size: SH
  7. Remove the antenna bezel and nut using the J 38536-A .

  8. Object Number: 182427  Size: SH
  9. Remove the antenna.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 182427  Size: SH
  1. Install the antenna.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the antenna bezel and nut using the J 38536-A .
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the antenna bezel nut to 10 N·m(89 lb in).

  5. Install the antenna mast. Refer to Fixed Antenna Mast Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 182427  Size: SH
  7. Connect the antenna extension cable to antenna.
  8. Install the right side rear compartment trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
  9. Close the rear compartment.

If the rear window antenna grid line is broken, it may be repaired. This repair procedure is identical to the rear window defogger grid line repair procedure. Refer to Grid Line Repair in Stationary Windows.
