Removal Procedure
  1. Position the sunroof in the fully closed position.
  2. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 166670 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the motor.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the express module.
  5. Remove the front drain hoses from the sunroof housing. Refer to Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement .
  6. Remove the rear drain hoses from the sunroof housing. Refer to Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement .

    7. Important: A helper will be required to support the sunroof module when removing the bolts.

  7. Remove one sunroof module bolt at the actuator bracket.
  8. Remove the sunroof module bracket bolts to the side rail.
  9. Remove the six sunroof module bolts to the roof.

    10. Important: A helper will be required to assist in the removal of the sunroof module from the vehicle.

  10. Remove the sunroof module from the vehicle through the door opening.

Installation Procedure

    Important: A helper will be required to assist in the installation of the sunroof module into the vehicle.

  1. Install the sunroof module to the vehicle through the door opening.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: A helper will be required to support the sunroof module when installing the bolts.

  2. Install the six sunroof module bolts to the roof.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the six sunroof module bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the sunroof module bracket bolts to the side rail.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the sunroof module bracket bolt to 10 N·m+/- 2.0 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install one sunroof module bolt at the motor bracket.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the one sunroof module motor bracket bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the rear drain hoses to the sunroof housing. Refer to Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement .
  6. Install the front drain hoses to the sunroof housing. Refer to Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement .
  7. Connect the electrical connectors to the motor.
  8. Connect the electrical connectors to the express module.
  9. Open and close the sunroof to recheck the operation.
  10. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
  11. Adjust the sunroof if necessary. Refer to Sunroof Panel Vertical Adjustment .
