Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Mark the rear compartment hinge location to the compartment lid
with a grease pencil.
- Disconnect the lid harness in the rear compartment.
- Remove the rear compartment lid hinge nuts. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Replacement
.
- Remove the rear compartment lid struts. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement
.
- Mark the rear compartment
hinge location to quarter panel with a grease pencil.
- Remove the bolts from the hinge.
- Remove the hinge from the quarter panel.
Installation Procedure
- Align the hinge to the
alignment marks on the quarter panel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts to the hinge.
Tighten
Tighten the hinge bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the rear compartment lid struts. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement
.
- Install the rear compartment lid nuts. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Replacement
.
- Adjust the rear compartment lid height adjustment by using an
Allen wrench on the rear compartment hinge height adjustment bumper.
- Adjust the rear compartment lid height adjustment by turning the
rear compartment lid overslam bumper by hand.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
