replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Secure the crossbrace with 2 bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
Important: Install the right and left seat adjuster sliding mechanism in the same position
as when you attached the adjuster-to-seat bottom frame.

- Inspect the power seat adjusters. Verify that the adjusters are parallel
and in phase with each other. If one adjuster reaches its maximum horizontal or vertical
travel in a given direction before the other adjuster, the adjusters are out of phase.
- Complete the following steps if the horizontal travel is out of phase.
19.1. | Operate the seat control switch until one adjuster reaches the full forward
position. |
19.2. | Disconnect the horizontal drive cable from the adjuster that has reached
the full forward position. |
19.3. | Operate the seat forward until the other adjuster reaches the full forward
position. |
19.4. | Connect the horizontal drive cable. |
19.5. | Inspect the seat for correct horizontal travel. |
- Complete the following steps if front or rear vertical travel is out of
phase.
20.1. | Operate the seat control switch until one of the adjusters has reached
the full raised positions at the front and rear vertical limits. |
20.2. | Disconnect both of the vertical drive cables from the adjuster that has
reached the full raised position. |
20.3. | Operate the seat control switch until the other adjuster reaches the full
raised positions at the front and rear vertical limits. |
20.4. | Connect the front and rear vertical drive cables. |
20.5. | Operate the adjusters through 1 or 2 complete cycles.
