  1. Turn the ignition on.
  2. Attempt to operate the heated seat in the high and low modes.
  3. Press the heated seat off switch.

Does the heated seat operate properly?

  1. Disconnect the heated seat control module connectors.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the ignition voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.
  3. Turn the ignition on.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp test from the battery positive voltage supply circuit terminal in the heated seat control module connector to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the heated seat control module connector ground circuit terminal.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the high/low switch signal circuit terminal in the heated seat control module connector.
  2. Press and release the high/low switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate when the high/low switch is pressed?

  1. Connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the off switch signal circuit terminal in the heated seat control module connector.
  2. Press and release the off switch.

Connect a fused jumper wire from battery positive voltage to the high indicator control circuit terminal in the heated seat control module connector.

Does the heated seat switch high indicator illuminate?

Connect a fused jumper wire from battery positive voltage to the low indicator control circuit terminal in the heated seat control module connector.

Does the heated seat switch low indicator illuminate?

Test the resistance through the heated seat thermistor from the heated seat control module connector terminals.

Is the resistance within the specified values?

7K-12K ohms

Test the resistance through the heated seat heater elements from the heated seat control module connector terminals.

Is the resistance within the specified values?

2-3 ohms

Repair the ignition voltage supply circuit to the heated seat control module for an open or high resistance. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the battery positive voltage supply circuit to the heated seat control module for an open or high resistance. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the heated seat control module ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the heated seat switch connector.
  2. Test and repair the high/low switch signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test and repair the heated seat switch ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the heated seat switch connector.
  2. Test and repair the heated seat switch low indicator control circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the heated seat back element connector.
  2. Test the resistance through the heated seat back element.

Is the resistance within the specified values?

0.5-2 ohms
