Removal Procedure
Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent
surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
- Apply protective tape
to the front edge of the front door and the rear edge of the front bumper
fascia.
- Remove the headlamp.

- Remove the hood. Refer to
Hood Replacement
.
- Remove the hood hinge. Refer to
Hood Hinge Replacement
.
- Remove the front fender liner. Refer to
Front Fender Liner Replacement
.
- Remove the washer solvent container (right fender). Refer to
Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement
in Wipers/Washer
Systems.
- Remove the rocker finish panel. Refer to
Rocker Panel Molding Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
- Remove the bolts from the fender at the door hinge pillar.
- Remove the bolts from
the fender at the rocker panel.
- Remove the bolts from
the fender at the front compartment side rail.
- Remove the bolts from the fender at the lower engine compartment
side rail.
- Remove the fender from the vehicle.
- Remove the body side molding, if required. Refer to
Body Side Molding Replacement
in Exterior Trim.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fender to
the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts to the fender at the front compartment side rail.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the bolts to the
fender at the rocker panel.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the bolts to the
fender at the door hinge pillar.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the bolts to the fender at the lower engine compartment
side rail.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Install the washer solvent container (right fender). Refer to
Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement
in Wipers/Washer
Systems.
- Install the front fender liner. Refer to
Front Fender Liner Replacement
.
- Install the hood hinge. Refer to
Hood Hinge Replacement

- Install the hood. Refer to

- Install the rocker finish panel. Refer to

- Install the headlamp. Refer to

- Install the body side molding, if required. Refer to
