1. Verify that the transaxle shift selector is in PARK.
2. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
3. Press the rear compartment lid release button on the RKE transmitter.

The rear compartment lid releases.

Rear Compartment Lid Release Inoperative

Close the rear compartment lid.

Rear compartment lid closes and is latched.

Rear Compartment does not latch. Refer to Symptoms

1. With the rear compartment lid step firmly on brake pedal.
2. Start the engine.
3. With the transaxle shift selector out of the PARK position, press the rear compartment lid release button on the RKE transmitter.

The rear compartment lid remains in the latched position.
