Front Side Door Upper Hinge and Lower Hinge Replacement Side Hinge

1. NOTICE: Clean the hinge mounting surfaces on the door with a rag and mark the hinge location on the door surface with a grease pencil or other suitable marker.
2. Support the door.
3. Remove the intermediate door hinge bolts.
4. Remove the door.



5. Remove the door side hinge bolts.
6. Remove the hinges.

Important: Locite® Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent should be used prior to the fastener installation.

1. Install the new hinges in the position with the old alignment marks.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the door side hinge bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).




3. Position the door on a support.

4. Install the intermediate door hinge bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the intermediate hinge bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

5. Adjust the door if necessary. Refer to Front Side Door Adjustment .

Front Side Door Upper Hinge and Lower Hinge Replacement Body Side Hinge

1. Open the door.



2. Clean the hinge mounting surface on body pillar with a rag and mark hinge location on the body pillar with a grease pencil or other suitable marker.



3. Remove the front fender insulator to gain access to the body side hinge bolts. Refer to Front Fender Insulator Replacement in Body Front End.
4. Remove the two 13 mm body side hinge bolts (1).
5. Remove one torx head body side hinge bolt.
6. Remove the body side hinge.

1. Install the new hinge in position with old adjustment marks.

Important: Loctite® Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent should be used prior to fastener installation.

2. Install the two 13 mm body side hinge bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the body side hinge bolts (13 mm Hex Head) to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

3. Install one torx head body side hinge bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the body side hinge bolts (10 mm Hex Head) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

4. Install the front fender insulator. Refer to Front Fender Insulator Replacement in Body Front End.
5. Close the door.



6. Adjust the door. Refer to Front Side Door Adjustment .
