Rear Seat Recliner Replacement AT5,

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the recliner covers. Refer to Rear Seat Back Recliner Cover Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 461732  Size: SH
  4. Unhook the J retainer at the bottom edge of the seat back cover.

  5. Object Number: 461401  Size: SH
  6. Remove the recliner bolts from the seat cushion.
  7. Move the seat back cover and pad away in order to expose the recliner bolts.

  8. Object Number: 461831  Size: SH
  9. Remove the recliner bolts from the seat back.
  10. Remove the recliner from the seat.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the recliner to the seat back.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the recliner to the seat back bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the recliner bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  5. Install the recliner to the seat cushion bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the recliner bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  7. Hook the J retainer at the bottom edge of the seat back cover.
  8. Install the recliner covers. Refer to Rear Seat Back Recliner Cover Replacement .
  9. Install the seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
