Rear Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement AT5 - 60/40 SPIT BENCH

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the second row 60/40 split bench seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Rear Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear seat back finish panel. Refer to Rear Seat Back Filler Panel Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 461618  Size: SH
  5. Separate the J retainer (1) from the bottom edge of the rear seat back cover (2).
  6. Remove the rear seat back recliner cover. Refer to Rear Seat Back Recliner Cover Replacement .
  7. Carefully reposition the rear seat back cover and foam away from the recliner to expose the recliner bolts.

  9. Remove the recliner bolts.
  10. Separate the rear seat back from the rear seat cushion.
  11. Remove the rear seat back cover retainer rings.

  12. Object Number: 461393  Size: SH
  13. Pull the rear seat back cover away from the foam pad while separating the hook and loop retainers (1).

  14. Object Number: 461623  Size: SH
  15. Remove the rear seat back cover from the foam pad.
  16. Remove the rear seat back pad from the seat back frame.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear seat back pad to the seat back frame.

  2. Object Number: 461623  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear seat back cover over the foam pad.

  4. Object Number: 461393  Size: SH
  5. Secure the rear seat back cover to the foam pad using retainer rings and the hook and loop retainers (1).
  6. Install the rear seat back to the rear seat cushion.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the recliner bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the recliner bolts to 32N·m (24 lb ft).

  10. Carefully position the rear seat back foam and cover over the recliner bolts.
  11. Install the rear seat back recliner cover. Refer to Rear Seat Back Recliner Cover Replacement .

  12. Object Number: 461618  Size: SH
  13. Connect the J retainer (1) at the bottom edge of the rear seat back cover (2).
  14. Install the rear seat back finish panel. Refer to Rear Seat Back Filler Panel Replacement .
  15. Install the head restraint. Refer to Rear Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
  16. Install the second row 60/40 split bench seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement .
