Are the DRL lamps inoperative?

Go to Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Headlamps Inoperative

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Cover the ambient light sensor.
  4. OPEN all doors.
  5. With a scan tool, observe all the Door Jamb Sw. parameter in the Driver Door Module (DDM) inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display OFF for all the door jamb switches?

Go to Step 11

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative door lock actuator.
  3. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the input circuit of the inoperative door lock actuator and the ground circuit of the inoperative door lock actuator.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the scan tool display ON?

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the connector of the inoperative door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Replace the inoperative door Lock actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement or Rear Side Door Latch Replacement in Doors.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 16

Test the input circuit of the inoperative door jamb switch for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Test the ground circuit of the inoperative door jamb switch for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the connector of the inoperative door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement in Doors.

With a scan tool observe the door jamb sw inputs in the rear integration module (RIM) input data list.

Does the scan tool indicate all the door jamb switches are OFF?

Inspect for poor connections at the DDM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
