Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 662318 Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) storage compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement .
  2. Remove the IP storage compartment door handle. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Release Handle Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 662321 Size: SH
  3. Insert the key into the door handle lock cylinder.
  4. Turn the key 1/4 turn clockwise (LOCK position).
  5. Remove the lock cylinder.
    6. 5.1. Insert a small diameter tool into the small rectangular opening on the RH side of the door handle.
    5.2. Depress and hold the lock cylinder retainer.
    5.3. Turn the key an additional 1/4 turn clockwise.
    5.4. Remove the key and lock cylinder as an assembly.

Installation Procedure
  1. If installing a new lock cylinder. Refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding in General Information.

    2. Object Number: 191032 Size: SH
  2. Insert the key into the lock cylinder.
  3. Insert the lock cylinder into the passenger compartment door handle.

    4. Align the lock cylinder in the same position used for removal, then push in order to seat fully.

  4. Turn the key 1/4 turn counterclockwise in order to secure the lock cylinder retainer.
  5. Turn the key an additional 1/4 turn counterclockwise and remove.
  6. Inspect the operation of the lock cylinder.

    7. The lock cylinder should only allow a 1/4 turn and should be securely retained in the door handle.

  7. Install the IP storage compartment door handle. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Latch Release Handle Replacement .
  8. Install the IP storage compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement .
  9. Close the IP storage compartment door.
