Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the electric cooling fan. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 334274  Size: SH

    Important: The fan blade retaining nut is left hand thread.

  3. Remove the fan blade retaining nut (5) from the electric cooling fan motors (2).
  4. Remove the fan blade (4) from the motor shaft.
  5. Remove the cooling fan motor retaining screws (3).
  6. Remove the cooling fan motor (2) from the shroud (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 334274  Size: SH
  1. Install the cooling fan motor (2) to the shroud (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the cooling fan motor retaining bolts (3).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the cooling fan blade (4) to the motor shaft.
  6. Important: The fan blade retaining nut is left hand thread.

  7. Install the cooling fan retaining nut (5) to the motors (2).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  9. Install the electric cooling fan. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
