Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear compartment
lid latch assembly. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement
.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the rear compartment lid (1).
- Remove the tail/backup lamp assembly. Refer to
Tail/Backup Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Remove the lock cylinder. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder Replacement
.
- Remove the fasteners (3) securing the lid (1) to
the hinges (2).
- With the aid of an assistant, remove the rear compartment lid (1)
from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Using the aid of an assistant,
install the rear compartment lid (1) to the hinges.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (3)
in order to secure the lid (1) to the hinges (2).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Adjust the rear compartment lid. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment
.
- Connect the wiring harness to the rear compartment lid (1).
- Connect the electrical connectors to the rear compartment lid
latch assembly.
- Install the lock cylinder. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Lock Cylinder Replacement
.
- Install the tail/backup lamp assembly. Refer to
Tail/Backup Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Install the rear compartment lid latch assembly. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement
.
- Adjust the rear compartment lid. Refer to
Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment
.
