Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
  2. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 551033  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the engine oil level sensor (1).
  5. Remove the engine oil level sensor (1) from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Replacement components must be the correct part number for the application. Components requiring the use of the thread locking compound, lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, or sealants are identified in the service procedure. Some replacement components may come with these coatings already applied. Do not use these coatings on components unless specified. These coatings can affect the final torque, which may affect the operation of the component. Use the correct torque specification when installing components in order to avoid damage.

  1. Install the engine oil level sensor (1) into the oil pan.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil level sensor to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the engine oil level sensor (1).
  4. Fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
  5. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
  6. Inspect for oil leaks after engine start up.
