Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear suspension support assembly. Refer to Support Replacement .
  2. Remove the ELC height sensor link on the left control arm.

  3. Object Number: 155716  Size: SH
  4. Remove the stabilizer link bolt and the nut.
  5. Disconnect the ABS electrical connector.
  6. Remove the hub and the bearing. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 397546  Size: SH
  8. Remove the tie rod. Refer to Adjust Link Replacement .

  9. Object Number: 155736  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolt and the nut securing the control arm to the rear suspension support assembly.
  11. Remove the control arm.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 155736  Size: SH
  1. Install the control arm to the rear suspension support assembly.
  2. Important: Tighten the control arm nuts with the vehicle unsupported and resting on the wheels at the normal trim height. Refer toTrim Height Specifications in Wheel Alignment.

  3. Install the bolts and the nuts.
  4. Install the hub bearing, if necessary. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  5. Connect the ABS electrical connector.

  7. Install the tie rod. Refer to Adjust Link Replacement .
  8. Tighten
    Tighten hex nut to 50 N·m (36 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the stabilizer link bolt and the nut.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  11. Install the ELC height sensor link on the left control arm.
  12. Install the rear suspension support assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the control arm nuts to 106 N·m (78 lb ft).
