Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Disconnect the left front door jamb switch connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the voltage between connector terminal B (GRY/BLK) and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 8

Inspect CKT 745 (GRY/BLK) for an open or short to ground.

Is the wiring OK?

Go to Step 5

Repair the open or short to ground on CKT 745 (GRY/BLK).

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Instrument Cluster System Check

Inspect instrument cluster connector C2 and terminal B9 for proper terminal contact.

Are the terminal contacts OK?

Go to Step 7

Repair the poor terminal contact.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement.

Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the voltage between the left front door latch assembly connector terminal B (GRY/BLK) and connector terminal D (BLK/WHT).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Inspect CKT 151 (BLK/WHT) for an open.

Is the wiring OK?

Repair the open in CKT 151 (BLK/WHT).

Did you complete the repair?

Inspect the left front door latch for proper terminal contact.

Is the terminal contact OK?
