Removal Procedure

  1. Open the front door.
  2. Separate the door wire harness (2) from the connector.

  3. Object Number: 441822  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.

  5. Object Number: 441765  Size: SH
  6. Remove the door check link fasteners.

  7. Object Number: 449396  Size: SH
  8. Support the door.
  9. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
  10. Remove the door, with the aid of an assistant.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 449396  Size: SH
  1. Align the door to the hinge halves, with the aid of an assistant.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Use Loctite Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to the fastener installation.

  3. Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the intermediate door hinge fasteners to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the check link to the body. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement .
  6. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate front door hinge fasteners with body color paint.

  7. Object Number: 441822  Size: SH
  8. Install the wiring conduit (2) over the door wire harness connector.
  9. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness.
  10. Check the proper door adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment .
