Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON , with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Key-In-Ignition parameter in the body control module (BCM) Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display Yes?

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition ON , with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn the headlamps ON.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Park Lamp Input parameter in the BCM Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display On?

Go to Step 4

  1. Make sure that the driver seat belt is unbuckled.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the Driver Seat Belt parameter in the BCM Inputs data list.

Does the scan tool display Unbuckled?

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Turn the headlamps OFF.
  3. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the lights on signal circuit at the BCM and a good ground.
  5. Turn the headlamps ON.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Open the driver door.

Does the door ajar indicator illuminate when the driver door is opened?

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the LH seat belt signal circuit at the BCM and battery positive voltage.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 14

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR).
  3. Connect a test lamp between the chime control circuit at the RCDLR and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the RCDLR.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the key-in-ignition signal circuit at the RCDLR and battery positive voltage.

Does the test lamp illuminate?
