Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 262503  Size: SH
  1. Pull outward to disengage the retainers of the instrument panel (I/P) outer trim covers.
  2. Remove the left I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Remove the right I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  4. Remove the left I/P trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  5. Important: It is not necessary to completely remove the lower I/P trim.

  6. In order to access the duct screws, remove the upper fasteners retaining the lower I/P trim.

  8. Pull the I/P trim off the studs and lower the trim out of the way.

  10. Remove the 2 screws (1) at the center of the air distributor duct.

  11. Object Number: 799927  Size: SH
  12. Remove the screw at the outboard side of the air distributor duct and pull the duct off the stud.

  14. Remove the right air temperature sensor from the air distributor duct by turning counterclockwise 1/4 turn.
  15. Disconnect the air temperature sensor electrical connector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 799925  Size: SH
  1. Connect the air temperature sensor electrical connector to the sensor.
  2. Install the right air temperature sensor into the air distributor duct and turn the sensor clockwise 1/4 turn.

  3. Object Number: 799927  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the air distributor duct to the stud and install the outboard screw.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (17 lb in).

  6. Install the air distributor duct center screws (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (17 lb in).

  8. Align the lower I/P trim to the studs and install the fasteners.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Install the left I/P trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  11. Install the right I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  12. Install the left I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

  14. Install the outer I/P trim covers.
