Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  4. Object Number: 379828  Size: SH
  5. Remove the liquid line nut from the condenser.

  6. Object Number: 379830  Size: SH
  7. Position aside the liquid line from the condenser.

  8. Object Number: 369008  Size: SH
  9. Remove the compressor hose nut (1) from the condenser.

  10. Object Number: 369018  Size: SH
  11. Position aside the compressor hose from the condenser.

  12. Object Number: 282839  Size: SH
  13. Remove the condenser.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 282839  Size: SH
  1. Install the condenser.
  2. Important: Lubricate the new O-ring seals with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

  3. Install the new O-ring seals onto the compressor line and the liquid line. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 379830  Size: SH
  5. Install the liquid line to the condenser.

  6. Object Number: 379828  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the liquid line nut to the condenser.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the liquid line nut to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  9. Install the compressor hose to the condenser.

  10. Object Number: 369008  Size: SH
  11. Install the compressor hose nut (1).
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  13. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  14. Evacuate, charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  15. Leak test the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing .
  16. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
