Is the LOW COOLANT level OK?

Fill the coolant reservoir to the proper level.

Is the low coolant level indicator illuminated?

Go to Step 3

System OK

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. WOW the instrument cluster on.
  3. WOW the instrument cluster off.

Does the low coolant level indicator turn off?

--

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the low coolant level indicator module connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Is the LOW COOLANT indicator on?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the off position.
  2. Using a DMM, inspect terminal B circuit 68 (YEL/BLK) for a short to ground.

Is the specified value present?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

  1. Replace the engine coolant level indicator module. Refer to Coolant Level Module Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Repair a short to ground in circuit 68 between the instrument cluster harness connector terminal B6 and the engine coolant level indicator module terminal B.
  2. Inspect the system.

  1. Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?
