Has a Keyless Entry Diagnostic System Check been performed?

Go to Remote Keyless Entry System Check

1. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
2. Observe the headlamps.

Are the headlamps on?

Go to Step 3

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems in Lighting

1. Turn off the headlamps.
2. Momentarily, press the horn switch.

Does the horn sound?

Go to Step 4

Go to Horns System Check in Horns

1. Remove the key from the ignition key lock cylinder.
2. Close all of the vehicle doors.
3. Press the LOCK button, then the UNLOCK button on the driver's door lock switch, while observing the door locks.
4. Press the LOCK, then the UNLOCK button on the passenger door lock switch, while observing the door locks.

Do all of the doors lock and unlock when using either door lock switch?

Go to Step 5

Go to Power Door Locks System Check in Doors

1. Replace the RCDLR.
2. Connect the BCM.
3. Reprogram all of the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming .
4. Ensure that the key has been removed from the ignition key cylinder lock.
5. Close all of the vehicle doors.
6. Press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter 1 time, while observing the door locks.
7. Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter 2 time, while observing the door locks.
8. Press the alarm button on the keyless entry transmitter, while observing the headlamps and listening to the horn.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door locks and alarm?

System OK

Go to Step 6

1. Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
2. After the BCM replacement, perform the Setup New BCM Procedure. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Connect any connectors and install the components that were removed.
