- Verify that the ignition switch is in the LOCK position.
- Connect all of the connectors.
- Install any components that were removed.
- Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Use the scan tool in order to clear the BCM DTCs. Refer to
Clearing DTCs
in Body Control System.
- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Use a scan tool in order to test for current BCM DTCs. Refer to
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying
in Body Control System.
Are there any current BCM DTCs?

- Clean the ignition key.
- Use the J 35628-A

- If the key code is still invalid, replace the key. Refer to
