Did you perform the Power Door Locks System Check?

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

1. Perform the following steps in order to enter the body control module (MALL) diagnostic mode:

•	Place the ignition switch in the ON position.

•	Press and hold the power door unlock switch.

•	Cycle the headlamps ON and OFF 6 times.

•	Release the power door unlock switch.

2. The MALL may sound a series of tones (history codes) upon entering the diagnostic mode. For a list of these codes, refer to Body Control Module Diagnostic Information in Body Control System.
3. Press a door lock switch to the LOCK position.

Does the MALL sound 1 tone each time the switch is pressed?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 3

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the MALL connector C2.
3. Disconnect the remote function actuator module (RFA) connector.
4. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter in order to measure the resistance between the MALL connector C2 terminal C7 and the remote function actuator (RFA) module connector terminal E4.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair an open in CKT 195 (LT BLU). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

1. Disconnect the appropriate component:

•	The left front door lock/window switch (Buick)

•	The left seat/lock switch (Oldsmobile)

2. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between the switch connector CKT 780 (RED/BLK) and the RFA connector terminal E13.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair an open in CKT 780 (RED/BLK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

1. Disconnect the MALL connector C1.
2. Disconnect the left front door lock actuator connector C2.
3. Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between the MALL connector C1 terminal C and the door lock actuator connector C2 terminal B.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 8

Repair an open or a short to ground in CKT 295 (GRY). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Power Door Locks System Check

--

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between the MALL terminal A and ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

1. Reconnect all of the connectors.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Use the DMM in order to backprobe between the RFA terminal E4 and B+.
4. Press the left front lock switch to the LOCK position.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 12

Replace the MALL. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Replace the RFA. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Replacement in Keyless Entry.
