Perform the Instrument Cluster System Check.

Is the system check complete?

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector C1 and connector C2
  2. Connect a test lamp from the instrument cluster connector C1 terminal F15 to connector C2 terminal A8.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.

Does the test lamp light (bulb check)?

Go to Step 4

Measure the voltage from the instrument cluster connector C1 terminal F15 to ground.

Does the voltage equal the specified value?

12 V

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Inspect the following instrument cluster terminals for proper contact.

    • Connector C1 terminal E15
    • Connector C1 terminal F15
    • Connector C2 terminal A8

Are the contacts OK?

Go to Step 5

Replace the instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

Inspect CKT 39 (PNK) for an open or short to ground.

Is the wiring OK?

  1. Disconnect the PCM connector C2.
  2. Measure the resistance from the instrument cluster connector C2 terminal A8 to the PCM connector C2 terminal 7.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Inspect CKT 1173 (BRN/WHT) for an open.

Is the wiring OK?

Repair the wiring.
