Removal Procedure
- Remove the oil filter adapter. Refer to
Oil Filter Adapter Replacement
.
- Remove the following from the engine block:
• | The oil cooler outlet fitting (1) |
• | The oil cooler inlet fitting (2) |
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the following components according to the RPO code:
- | The fasteners securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery
tray and cowl. |
- | The front air inlet panel assembly from the vehicle. |
- Remove the water crossover. Refer to
Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the following from the engine oil
cooler:
• | The oil cooler inlet fitting |
• | The oil cooler outlet fitting |
- Note
the positioning of the 4 seals.
- Remove the oil cooler lines from the engine.
Installation Procedure
- Position the oil cooler lines to the engine.
Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the oil cooler inlet and outlet fittings to the engine oil cooler.
Use 4 new seals.
Tighten
• | Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting to 30 N·m (22 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting to 30 N·m (22 lb ft). |
- Install the water crossover. Refer to
Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Install the oil cooler inlet (2)
and outlet fittings (1) to the engine block.
Tighten
• | Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting (2) to 30 N·m
(22 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting (1) to 30 N·m
(22 lb ft). |
- Install the oil filter adapter. Refer to
Oil Filter Adapter Replacement
.
- Install the following components according to the RPO code:
- | Position the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray and cowl. |
- | Install the fasteners securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the
battery tray and cowl. |
Tighten
Tighten the front air inlet panel assembly fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
