Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the oil filter adapter. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 852267  Size: SH
  3. Remove the following from the engine block:
  4. • The oil cooler outlet fitting (1)
    • The oil cooler inlet fitting (2)
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Remove the following components according to the RPO code:
  7. • LHD
    • The wiper motor module. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
    • RHD
       - The air inlet grill panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
       - The fasteners securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray and cowl.
       - The front air inlet panel assembly from the vehicle.
  8. Remove the water crossover. Refer to Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  9. Object Number: 159490  Size: SH
  10. Remove the following from the engine oil cooler:
  11. • The oil cooler inlet fitting
    • The oil cooler outlet fitting

    Object Number: 159495  Size: MH
  12. Note the positioning of the 4 seals.
  13. Remove the oil cooler lines from the engine.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the oil cooler lines to the engine.
  2. Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 159495  Size: MH
  3. Install the oil cooler inlet and outlet fittings to the engine oil cooler.
  4. Use 4 new seals.

    Tighten

        • Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
        • Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
  5. Install the water crossover. Refer to Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  7. Object Number: 852267  Size: SH
  8. Install the oil cooler inlet (2) and outlet fittings (1) to the engine block.
  9. Tighten

        • Tighten the oil cooler inlet fitting (2) to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
        • Tighten the oil cooler outlet fitting (1) to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
  10. Install the oil filter adapter. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter Replacement .
  11. Install the following components according to the RPO code:
  12. • LHD
    • The wiper motor module. Refer to Windshield Wiper System Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
    • RHD
       - Position the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray and cowl.
       - Install the fasteners securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray and cowl.

    Tighten
    Tighten the front air inlet panel assembly fasteners to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

       - The air inlet grill panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
