Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2003 🢒 CTS - RHD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.6L and 3.2L 🢒 Oil Filter Adapter Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  2. Remove the left catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side in Engine Exhaust.

    3. Object Number: 804905 Size: SH
  3. Remove the 2 oil filter adapter bolts.

    4. Object Number: 804906 Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil filter adapter plug.
  5. Remove the O-ring from the oil filter adapter plug, discard the O-ring.

    6. Object Number: 804907 Size: SH
  6. Remove the female screw located inside the oil filter adapter.
  7. Remove the oil filter adapter from the engine block.

    8. Object Number: 804908 Size: SH
  8. Remove the O-ring from the oil filter adapter, discard the O-ring.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 804908 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the NEW oil filter adapter O-ring with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the NEW O-ring into the oil filter adapter groove.

    3. Object Number: 804907 Size: SH
  3. Position the oil filter adapter to the engine block.
  4. To ensure proper orientation of the oil filter adapter, loosely install the oil filter adapter bolts through the adapter and into the engine block.

    5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the female screw into the oil filter adapter.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter adapter female screw to 25 N·m(18 lb ft).

  6. Lubricate the NEW oil filter adapter plug O-ring with clean engine oil.
  7. Install the O-ring onto the oil filter adapter plug.
  8. Install the oil filter adapter plug.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter adapter plug to 25 N·m(18 lb ft).

  9. Tighten the 2 oil filter adapter bolts installed in step 4.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter adapter bolts to 20 N·m(15 lb ft).

  10. Install the left catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side in Engine Exhaust.
  11. Install the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
