Removal Procedure
- Open and support the hood.
- Using a wax pencil, scribe the location of the hood hinge on the hood.
- Apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
- Remove the hood. Refer to

- Remove the fender. Refer to
Front Fender Replacement
.
- Remove the bolts (1) that secure the hinge to the motor compartment.
- Remove the hinge from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the hinge to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts (1) in order to secure the hinge to the motor compartment.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the hood using the marks scribed during removal. Refer to

.
- Install the fender. Refer to
Front Fender Replacement
.
- Close the hood and inspect for fit.
- Adjust the hood as necessary. Refer to
Hood Adjustment
.
- Remove the tape from the panels.
