Removal Procedure

  1. Apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
  2. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  4. Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  5. Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement in Exterior Trim.

  6. Object Number: 894342  Size: SH
  7. Remove the bolts (1) securing the lower front portion of the front fender to the vehicle.

  8. Object Number: 895004  Size: SH
  9. Remove the bolts (1) securing the lower rear portion of the front fender to the vehicle.

  10. Object Number: 791899  Size: SH
  11. Remove the bolt (2) securing the upper rear portion of the front fender to the vehicle.

  12. Object Number: 791900  Size: SH
  13. Loosen the bolt on the inside of fender to door pillar.
  14. Remove shield from upper portion of fender by depressing tabs (battery side only).

  15. Object Number: 791899  Size: SH
  16. Remove the bolts (1) securing the upper portion of the front fender to the vehicle.
  17. Remove the front fender from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 791899  Size: SH
  1. Position the front fender to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts (1) in order to secure the upper portion of the front fender to the vehicle.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the bolt (2) in order to secure the rear portion of the front fender to the vehicle.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Install the bolts (1) in order to secure the lower rear portion of the front fender to the vehicle.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  9. Install the bolts (1) in order to secure the lower front portion of the front fender to the vehicle.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  11. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  12. Install the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  13. Install the rocker panel molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  14. Install the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Exterior Lighting.
  15. Remove the tape from the corners of the panels and adjacent surfaces.
