Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the body main harness.
  4. Remove the rear compartment lid strut rods. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement

  5. Object Number: 738149  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts securing the rear compartment lid to the rear compartment lid hinge with an assistant.
  7. Remove the rear compartment lid from the vehicle with an assistant.
  8. Remove the rear compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
  9. Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
  10. Remove the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers from the rear compartment lid.
  11. Remove the rear compartment lid drain plugs from the rear compartment lid.
  12. Remove the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the rear compartment lid.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear compartment lid drain plugs into the rear compartment lid.
  2. Install the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers to the rear compartment lid.
  3. Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement .
  4. Install the rear compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 738149  Size: SH
  6. Install the rear compartment lid wiring harness to the rear compartment lid.
  7. Install the rear compartment lid to the vehicle with an assistant.
  8. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the bolts in order to secure the rear compartment lid to the rear compartment lid to the hinge.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the rear compartment lid strut rod. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement
  12. Adjust rear compartment lid as necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
  13. Connect the rear compartment lid wiring harness to the body main harness.
  14. Install the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .
  15. Close the rear compartment.
