Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment.
- Using a wax pencil, mark the nut and the bolt locations on both
the rear compartment lid and the vehicle body sides of the hinge being replaced.
- Remove the strut rod on the side of the hinge being replaced.

- Remove the nuts that secure the rear compartment
lid hinge to the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the bolts that secure the rear compartment
lid hinge to the vehicle body.
- Remove the rear compartment lid hinge.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear compartment lid hinge.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts in order to secure the rear compartment lid hinge
to the vehicle body.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fasteners in order to secure the
rear compartment lid hinge to the rear compartment lid.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the rear compartment lid strut rod. Refer to

- Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to

.
- Check and adjust the rear compartment lid as necessary. Refer
to
Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment
.
- Close the rear compartment.
