Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the hood.
  2. The windshield washer nozzle supply hose connection is located within the hood near the hinge on the left of the vehicle.
  3. Pull the hose to expose the connection and the clip.
  4. Remove the windshield washer nozzle supply hose.
  5. Raise the air inlet screen to access the windshield washer electrical connection.
  6. Disconnect the windshield washer electrical connection.
  7. Support the hood.
  8. Remove the strut from the hood. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement .

  10. Remove the bolt from the right side of the hood hinge.
  11. Remove the bolt from the left side of the hood hinge.
  12. Remove the hood with the aid of a helper.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 163066  Size: SH
  1. Install the hood with the aid of a helper.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the first bolt to the right side of the hood hinge. Install the second bolt to the left side of the hood hinge.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the right hood bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft). Tighten the left hood bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Install the strut to the hood. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement .
  6. Connect the windshield washer electrical connection.

  8. Close the air inlet screen right side.
  9. Install the windshield washer nozzle supply hose to the clip.
  10. Re-position the washer nozzle supply hose within the hood.
  11. Adjust the hood if necessary. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
  12. Lower the hood.
