Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race - Assemble - Off Vehicle Power Tilt\\Telescope-Column Shift

Tools Required

J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor


    Object Number: 588839 Size: SH
  1. Install the following parts onto the steering shaft:
    2. 1.1. Lubricate the inner race (3) with lithium grease.
    1.2. The inner race (3).
    1.3. The upper bearing inner race seat (2).
    1.4. The upper bearing spring (1).

    Object Number: 588376 Size: SH
  2. Install the turn signal cancel cam (2) onto the steering shaft assembly.
  3. Install the shaft lock (1) onto the steering shaft assembly.

    4. Object Number: 588367 Size: SH
  4. Install a new bearing retainer (1) using J 23653-SIR .

    5. Object Number: 588360 Size: SH
  5. Install the wave washer.
  6. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle .

J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor


    Object Number: 588839 Size: SH
  1. Install the following parts onto the steering shaft:
    2. 1.1. Lubricate the inner race (3) with lithium grease.
    1.2. The inner race (3).
    1.3. The upper bearing inner race seat (2).
    1.4. The upper bearing spring (1).

  2. Install the turn signal cancel cam (2) onto the steering shaft assembly.
  3. Install the shaft lock (1) onto the steering shaft assembly.

    4. Object Number: 588367 Size: SH
  4. Install a new bearing retainer (1) using J 23653-SIR .

    5. Object Number: 626476 Size: SH
  5. Install the wave washer.
  6. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle .

J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor


    Object Number: 628905 Size: SH
  1. Install the following parts onto the steering shaft assembly:
    2. 1.1. Lubricate the inner race (1) with synthetic grease.
    1.2. The inner race (1).
    1.3. The upper bearing inner race seat (2).
    1.4. The upper bearing spring (3).
    1.5. The turn signal cancel cam (4).
    1.6. The shaft lock (5).

  2. Install a new bearing retainer (1).
  3. Compress the shaft lock (2) using J 23653-SIR .
  4. Firmly seat the bearing retainer (1) into the groove on the steering shaft assembly.
  5. Remove J 23653-SIR .

    6. Object Number: 603855 Size: SH
  6. Install the wave washer.
  7. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle .

J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor


    Object Number: 603950 Size: SH
  1. Install the following parts onto the steering shaft assembly:
    2. 1.1. Lubricate the inner race (1) with synthetic grease.
    1.2. The inner race (1).
    1.3. The upper bearing inner race seat (2).
    1.4. The upper bearing spring (3).
    1.5. The turn signal cancel cam (4).
    1.6. The shaft lock (5).

    Object Number: 588367 Size: SH
  2. Install a new bearing retainer (1).
  3. Compress the shaft lock using J 23653-SIR .
  4. Firmly seat the bearing retainer (1) into the groove on the steering shaft assembly.
  5. Remove J 23653-SIR .

    6. Object Number: 603855 Size: SH
  6. Install the wave washer.
  7. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle .
