J 41358-A Torque Rod Retaining Pin

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the rear compartment torque rods. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 552371  Size: SH
  6. Remove the fastener (2) securing the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge to the vehicle.
  7. Remove the fasteners (1) securing the rear compartment lid hinge to the vehicle.
  8. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 552371  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fastener (2) in order to secure the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge to the vehicle.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the fasteners (1) in order to secure the rear compartment lid hinge to the vehicle.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear compartment torque rods. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Torque Rod Replacement .
  8. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  9. Check and adjust the rear compartment lid for the following. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment .
  10. • Fore and aft adjustment at the rear compartment lid hinge attachments.
    • Up and down adjustment at rear compartment lid latch, striker and hinges.
    • Torque rod free rise of the rear compartment lid.
  11. Install the rear shelf panel. Refer to Rear Window Shelf Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  12. Close the rear compartment lid.
