Radio Front Speaker Replacement IP
Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument
panel upper trim panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the electrical connector hold down from the IP pad
- Remove the fasteners (1) from the speaker (2) to
be serviced.
- Remove the speaker (2) from the IP top pad.
Installation Procedure
- Align the speaker (2)
to be replaced to the opening in the instrument panel upper trim panel.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (1).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (1) to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
- Secure the electrical connector to the IP pad, with the attached
edge clip.
- Install the instrument panel upper trim panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gages and Console.
