Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

    Important: The center seat belt buckle (1) can be removed by removing the seat bottom and the driver's side seat back hold-down fastener. Both of the rear outer seat belt buckles (2, 3) are retained under the seat back wire hold-downs. Removal of the seat back is required in order to remove the outer seat belt buckles.

  1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the driver's side seat back hold-down fastener and remove the center seat belt buckle (1).
  3. Disconnect the wiring connection to the left and right seat belt buckles (2, 3).
  4. Remove the rear seat back in order to remove the left and right outer seat belt buckles. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  5. Remove the rear outer seat belt buckles (2, 3) from the floor pan.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear seat belt buckles (2, 3) to the floor pan.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear seat back, the center seat belt, and the center seat belt buckles. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement in Seats.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat back/seat belt buckle fasteners to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Connect the left and right rear seat belt buckle electrical connectors
  6. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
